Terms of Service
TradeCam · Last updated 11 September 2026
Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. Placeholders in [brackets] must be filled in. Have a Swiss lawyer review this before it goes live; it's written to be a good starting point, not legal advice.
1. Who we are
TradeCam is made by [YOUR NAME / COMPANY NAME], [legal form, e.g. sole proprietorship], based at [street, postcode, city], Switzerland ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [hello@tradecam.app].
Purchases are processed by our reseller and merchant of record, Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"). Paddle's terms apply to the payment itself; these Terms apply to the software and services.
2. What TradeCam is
TradeCam is a journaling tool for traders. It watches your trading platform's own log files on your computer, captures screenshots when you enter or exit a position, records your notes, and writes the result into your own Notion workspace and, optionally, your own YouTube channel. It also offers a web dashboard that renders charts from that Notion data.
TradeCam does not place, modify, or cancel trades. It reads; it never sends orders to any broker or platform.
3. Not financial advice
Nothing in TradeCam is investment, trading, or financial advice. The statistics, charts, and summaries it produces are calculations on data you supplied; they may be incomplete or wrong. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions and for any losses. Trading futures, cryptocurrencies, and similar instruments carries substantial risk.
4. Your account and licence
Eligibility. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
Licence. On purchase (or on receiving a tester key), we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use TradeCam for as long as your subscription or tester access is active. One licence covers use on [two] computers you own.
Activation. The software checks your licence key against our servers on activation and periodically afterwards, and ties the key to the machine it's activated on. We may deactivate keys that are shared or misused.
Testers. Tester access is free, time-limited, and granted at our discretion. It may be withdrawn at any time. Tester versions may be incomplete and may change without notice. When tester access ends, the software stops capturing until a subscription is purchased.
5. What you may not do
You may not: share, resell, or sublicense your licence; reverse-engineer or modify the software except where the law permits; use it to violate anyone's rights or any platform's terms; circumvent licence checks; or use the service to store or distribute unlawful content.
6. Your data and third-party services
TradeCam connects to services you already use. Each has its own terms and privacy policy, which you accept separately:
- Notion — trade pages and images are written to a database you choose in your own workspace.
- YouTube / Google — session recordings are uploaded, as unlisted videos, to your own channel. Your use of these features is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
- OBS Studio — recordings are made locally by OBS, which you install and control.
- Your trading platform — TradeCam reads its local log files. It has no relationship with the platform's maker.
You keep full ownership of your trading data, notes, screenshots, and recordings. We claim no rights over them. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. The dashboard and widget links
The web dashboard generates links you can embed in Notion. Anyone who has a widget link can view that widget. The links are long and random, like an unlisted video, but they are not password-protected — treat them accordingly and don't publish them. You can revoke all links for a database at any time from the dashboard.
8. Payment, renewal, and refunds
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the customer portal Paddle provides; access continues to the end of the paid period.
Refunds. If TradeCam doesn't work for you, ask within [14] days of your first purchase and we'll refund it. Renewals are not refundable, except where the law requires. Refund requests go to [hello@tradecam.app] or through Paddle.
Price changes apply from your next renewal; we'll tell you at least 30 days before.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the dashboard and licence servers available but don't guarantee it. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, active subscribers get a pro-rata refund of prepaid, unused time.
Because TradeCam depends on platforms we don't control (Notion, YouTube, your trading platform), a change on their side can break a feature. We'll do our best to fix it but can't promise to.
10. Warranty and liability
TradeCam is provided as is. To the extent permitted by Swiss law we exclude all warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for trading losses, lost data, lost profits, or indirect damages.
Nothing here limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or where Swiss law doesn't allow limitation.
11. Termination
You can stop using TradeCam at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms; we'll tell you why unless the law prevents it. Sections 3, 6, 10, and 12 survive termination.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of [Bern], Switzerland have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we'll notify you by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use TradeCam after that means you accept the new Terms.
